From Heritage to Hope: Unity That Builds Generations
Honoring the family foundation that gave rise to the Neng & Kembong Njangi Scheme
The roots of this Njangi Scheme are deeply grounded in the life and example of Late Kembong Ngei, wife of Late NENG Indzo, and foster mother of Late Mama Mmbei Ekei, daughter of the renowned Fon Ko-Sih-Nlongho of Naikom Village.
When Late NENG Indzo was no longer present, the strength and stability of the household rested in the hands of Mama Kembong Ngei. Through her guidance, wisdom, and unwavering sense of responsibility, the home remained united and disciplined. Within that household, a generation was raised not simply as relatives, but as one family bound by shared values — love, respect, accountability, and collective responsibility.

Some were biological children; others were raised in the same home — but all grew as one family, united by shared discipline, care, and the belief that unity is strength. The Birth of the Neng & Kembong Njangi Group
From this spirit of unity among the descendants of Late Neng & Kembong Ngei and Late Mmbei Ekei emerged the Neng & Kembong Ngei’s Njangi Group. What began as a traditional Njangi — a rotational savings contribution system — gradually evolved into something far more meaningful.
A few visionary family members, driven by compassion and responsibility toward the wellbeing of others, began contributing personal funds beyond their regular contributions. These funds were made available as small, accessible loans to family members who needed support to sustain petit trading, small businesses, and daily livelihood activities.
These loans were offered at very modest interest, not to create profit, but to create opportunity. The purpose was clear: To instill financial discipline.
To encourage entrepreneurship. To promote accountability and responsible repayment.
To circulate capital within the family. To strengthen the economic resilience of future generations.
Through this evolution, the Njangi transformed from a simple savings circle into a structured, family-centered microfinance system built on trust, transparency, and shared progress.
A Living Legacy
Today, the Njangi Scheme stands as more than a financial arrangement. It is a living expression of the values inherited from Kembong Ngei and Mmbei Ekei. Through disciplined savings, responsible lending, and collective oversight, the family has demonstrated that unity can be transformed into capital — and capital into opportunity.
What began as shared heritage has become a platform for shared prosperity and generational empowerment. The legacy of our parents is therefore not only remembered in words or photographs. It is carried forward through action. Each contribution, each loan repaid, and each family member empowered continues the work they began — ensuring that future generations stand firmly upon the foundation they built with unity, discipline, and love.
